The Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor film has received largely negative reviews and has been massively trolled online, but none of that seem to have had any impact on its box office performance. Saaho, in just three days of its release, has left behind Mission Mangal and Batla House as far as box office collection is concerned.
Saaho follows the story of an undercover agent played by Prabhas, who is on a mission to catch the criminals who plan to steal Rs 2,000 crore in the fictional city of Waaji. Shraddha plays Prabhas’s love interest in the film. The spy drama film, made on a budget of Rs 350 crore, was released on August 30. Directed by Sujeeth, the film was rolled out in four languages- Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam – in nearly 4,500 screens.
Saaho (Hindi) version has crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark on Tuesday (Day 5). Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted the latest box office figures, “#Saaho drops on Day 5… Mass circuits are contributing… Partial holiday on Day 4 helped score in double digits… Eyes ₹ 110 cr+ total in Week 1… Fri 24.40 cr, Sat 25.20 cr, Sun 29.48 cr, Mon 14.20 cr, Tue 9.10 cr. Total: ₹ 102.38 cr Nett BOC. #India biz. #Hindi version.”
On Wednesday Saaho raked the business of only 5.02 crores after an unexpected drop. With this, its 6 days total domestic collection has become 107.40 crores nett from 3500 screens. Saaho marks Prabhas’ debut in Hindi films. It is also Shraddha Kapoor’s debut in South Indian cinema.
Apart from Shraddha and Prabhas, the film also stars Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mandira Bedi, Chunky Pandey in supporting roles.
